I will never forget you my friend

dearest one,
lay your head down here.
close your weary eyes and rest.
in my arms you'll make this journey.
it was not your fault, it was not mine.
i pray you will forgive me, i pray in time i'll see.
there was no other way, that this had to be.
my children, they are my rock, they make my soul as nothing else.
